Job Overview

Effective April 1:

New Mileage bonus will take effect
2000-2499-- .03 cpm
2500-2999-- .04 cpm
3000+-- .05 cpm

Effective May 1:

Base pay will increase across the board by .01 cpm

Effective June 1:

Safety bonus will increase to:

1st year-- .03 per paid mile
2nd, 3rd, & 4th year-- .035 per paid mile
5th+ year-- .04 per paid mile

To be paid as follows:

1st year-- .02 per mile per quarter/ .01 cpm at year end
2nd, 3rd, & 4th year-- .0225 per mile per quarter/ .0125 cpm at year end
5th+ year-- .025 per mile per quarter/ .015 cpm at year end

OTR Owner Operators will receive an increase of .01 cpm on all loaded miles and also all empty miles so deadhead will now be .67 cpm.

New addition to the pay program for straight drivers--
Straight drivers will be eligible for a .01 cpm safety bonus paid quarterly. All safety bonus program rules will apply.

Driver Qualification (company and owner operators)

  • 21 years of age
  • 12 months or 100,000 miles of recent and verifiable experience ( unless applying for MTI training )
  • Current CDL from state of residence
  • Good driving record in the past 5 years
  • No major preventable accidents in the past year
  • Must live east of the Mississippi River
  • Will have to meet all DOT requirements
  • Must pass a company physical and substance abuse screen

Driver Training

  • Trainee pay $500 weeks 1, 2 & 3
  • $550 weeks 4 & 5
  • $600 week 6+
  • Trainer pay is now a straight .07 cpm.
  • Motels for students not paid for by Millis. We will front the initial stay, but once they start getting paid they will get $10 per week deducted until motel bill is paid.

Full Time Employees Are Eligible To Participate In The Group Dental Plan The First Day Of The Month Following 60 Days Of Employment.

Eye Care Coverage
Full Time Employees Are Eligible To Participate In The Group Eye Care Coverage Plan The First Day Of The Month Following 60 Days Of Employment.

No Cost In Electing The Standard $10,000.00 Life Insurance Coverage.

Retirement
The Company Has Available A Plan Which Allow You To Prepare For The Golden Years
- A 401k Saving And Retirement Plan, Which Allows The Individual To Contribute Up To 15% Of His Taxable Wages Toward The Plan. These Monies Are Matched At 20% By The Company, And These Entire Funds Are Invested In One Of Four Mutual Funds.

Rider Policy
After Completion Of 3 Months Of Employment, Drivers Are Allowed To Participate In Our Rider Program, Whereby Drivers Are Allowed To Be Accompanied By An Adult Or Family Member Upon Approval By The Safety Department.

AUTHORIZED EMPTY MILES: $ .66 PER MILE

STOP-OFF & PICKUP PAY:
The contractor will be paid $ 30.00 for each additional pick-up or stop-off

HAND LOADING OR UNLOADING PAY:
The contractor will be paid up to $ 100.00 for hand unloading. The rate of pay will be determined and authorized by dispatch supervisor based on items, weight, and time requirements for unloading. The minimum pay for unloading will be $ 45.00.

MILEAGE INCENTIVE:
The contractor will be paid a bonus of $ .01 per mile for all miles traveled in any calendar month in which the contractor accumulates in excess of 9,000 miles. The contractor will be paid a bonus of $ .015 per mile for all miles traveled in any calendar month in which the contractor accumulates in excess of 11,000 miles.

SAFETY, LONGEVITY BONUS:
The contractor will be eligible to enroll in the safety, longevity bonus program, which compensates the contractor based on safe miles traveled as well as length of service.

BASE PLATE:
The contractor will not be charged for a base plate provided the contractor accumulates 105,000 miles per calendar year and remains under contract for the entire calendar year. Contractors not attaining 105,000 miles will be charged the cost of the most recent years base plate with 7 equal weekly settlement deductions. Contractors whose contracts are terminated prior to the completion of the calendar year will be charged for the full cost of the base plate for the most recent years base plate.

PERMITS:
The contractor will not be charged for permits. Upon termination of the contract all permits, whether temporary or permanent, must be returned to Millis Transfer, Inc.

FUEL TAXES:
Millis Transfer calculates and pays for all fuel taxes.

INSURANCE:
The contractor must provide Bobtail/Deadhead Liability Insurance.

The contractor must provide a Certificate of Proof of Workman's Compensation Insurance. Or enroll in our Occupational Accident Program.

TOLLS:
All authorized tolls paid. Tolls paid match company driver toll policy.
