Connecticut bills would take toll on road users
Time is running out at the Connecticut statehouse on numerous bills
that would charge truckers and other drivers to use roads. OOIDA
leadership points out truck drivers already foot quite a bill to
travel through states, including Connecticut. While truckers may
not buy fuel in the state, they still pay whatever Connecticut’s
fuel tax is for every mile they run in the state....

Eight rest areas on chopping block in New
Hampshire
Truckers can add New Hampshire to the growing list of states
thinking about closing rest areas as a way to save money. In his
recent budget address, Gov. John Lynch is proposing the reduction
of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation’s operating
budget by $12 million. His proposal would close eight of the
state’s 16 rest areas in the next two years....

don't jump into becoming an over the road truck driver if you value

There are hundreds and hundreds of possible job openings with
hundreds of people applying to all of them. It is like hitting the
lottery if you even get a call back from one of the companies to
which you have applied. You might as well play the lottery unless
you have a stupendous resume and are well connected. But if that
were you, you probably would not reading the local Sunday
classifieds in the first place....

skills for specialization. There is a misconception that there are
